THL Gourmet Foods Inc. is one of the leading importers and distributors of Asian food products from the Pacific Rim and other regions of the world. We are currently seeking a client-focused Sales Representative to support our Sales Team in the Food Service division, which specializes in serving customers in the restaurants industry.

Position Summary:

The Sales Representative is responsible for managing and developing customer accounts within the food service sector. This role focuses on maintaining strong relationships with existing customers, identifying new business opportunities, and supporting sales growth within an assigned territory.

The position requires regular local travel to visit customers, including restaurants and food distributors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve established sales and gross profit targets through effective account management and new business development.
  • Maintain relationships with existing customers and identify opportunities to expand product offerings.
  • Identify and pursue new customer opportunities within the food service sector.
  • Present and sell company products and introduce new items to customers as they become available.
  • Monitor inventory conditions and assist with the clearance of short-dated products when required.
  • Monitor market conditions, competitor activity, and customer needs to support sales planning.
  • Work with internal departments to support order processing, delivery coordination, and customer service.
  • Follow up with customers regarding outstanding invoices when required.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and sales activity information.

  • Proficiency in English (spoken & written).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Valid driver’s license & reliable vehicle.

Assets/ Nice-to-Haves:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the food industry, preferably in restaurant supply, wholesale, or distribution.
  • Ability to analyze market trends and translate insights into effective sales strategies.
  • Proficiency in Cantonese, Mandarin or Korean is considered an asset, as it may support communication with a diverse client base. All candidates will be considered regardless of language ability.
