THL Gourmet Foods Inc. is one of the leading importers and distributors of Asian food products from the Pacific Rim and other regions of the world. To fulfill our operation needs, we are looking for a Full-Time Delivery Driver with a D/Z License to make local deliveries.

Position Summary:

The Driver (D/Z License) makes frequent deliveries during weekdays and provides support as needed on weekends.  This role will involve frequent movement and lifting. Must hold a D/Z driver’s license and be able to lift up to 50lbs.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct inspections of vehicle before departing to deliver goods in order to ensure mechanical safety
• Preform proper product delivery to all customers
• Ensure all work is performed in a manner that conforms to standard operating procedures
• Perform out-of-town deliveries when needed
• Driver may need overnight stay in Ottawa and Windsor once per month
• Deliver orders to customers on assigned routes
• Unload goods as per client specification
• Move objects using a power jack tool
• Obtain delivery confirmations from each customer
• Review deliveries with customers to ensure products meet their needs

Requirements/ Must-Haves:

• D/Z driver’s license
• Clean driving record and CVOR
• At least 3 years of the previous Tandem / 26ft reefer commercial truck driving experience
• Physically able to handle product delivery/ability to lift up to 50lbs
• Adhere to road safety, traffic regulations and speed
• Provide proper care to the operation and maintenance of the vehicle
• Highly independent and self-motivated
• Basic English communication
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Legally entitled to work in Canada

Assets/ Nice-to-Haves:

• Ability to communicate in Chinese would be an asset
• 3 years of commercial driving experience is preferred
