THL Gourmet Foods Inc. is one of the leading importers and distributors of Asian food products from the Pacific Rim and other regions of the world. We are currently looking for a candidate for the position as a Food Service –  Sales Representative in our ON office.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic Food Service Sales Representative to join our team! Reporting to the Food Service Sales Department Manager, this role supports our sales team in achieving sales targets, maintaining strong customer relationships, and expanding our presence in the food service industry.

This position involves local travel to meet customers, including retail stores, restaurants, and food distributors, to grow and maintain customer accounts.

Responsibilities:

  • Meet and exceed sales targets by promoting products and introducing new offerings to meet customer needs.
  • Develop and maintain long-term customer relationships by engaging new and existing clients.
  • Conduct regular sales visits to establish and maintain accounts through effective planning and scheduling.
  • Monitor market trends and provide insights on products, demand, and delivery timelines.
  • Provide timely reports on sales activities, customer feedback, and market insights.
  • Manage short-expiry product clearance and conduct market research.
  • Address customer concerns professionally and ensure timely resolution.
  • Ensure prompt payment collection to prevent overdue accounts.

Requirements/ Must-Haves:

  • Minimum 1 year of sales experience (preferably in food service or related industry).
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in English (spoken & written).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Valid driver’s license & reliable vehicle (ability to travel within Ontario).
  • Ability to open new accounts and expand business opportunities.

Assets/ Nice-to-Haves:

  • Over 2 years of experience in the restaurant or food industry.
  • Ability to analyze market trends and develop effective sales strategies.
  • Proficiency in Chinese (verbal and/or written) is an asset to support engagement with a diverse client base but is not required.
