THL Gourmet Foods Inc. is one of the leading importers and distributors of Asian food products from the Pacific Rim and other regions of the world. We are currently looking for an Inventory Planner to join our purchasing team in our ON office.

Position Summary:

The Senior Inventory Planner reports to the Inventory Planning Manager and plays a critical role in supporting the day-to-day review of inventory levels, overseas replenishment, sales performance, and data analysis. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills and inventory planning experience to ensure optimal stock levels and efficient replenishment processes. This position requires close collaboration with internal teams and overseas vendors to ensure accurate planning and timely decision-making.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Regularly review inventory levels across regional Distribution Centers (DCs) ensuring alignment with sales demand and service level KPIs.
  • Analyze filled and unfilled rates and recommend action plans to address service gaps.
  • Manage and coordinate overseas stock replenishment, including monitoring ETAs and arrival schedules of purchase orders.
  • Conduct regular sales and inventory performance reviews to support purchasing decisions and demand forecasting.
  • Perform data analysis to evaluate vendor and product performance.
  • Support the negotiation and tracking of overstock contracts and manage controls related to obsolete and damaged inventory.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including Sales and Marketing, to reduce excess inventory and support business objectives.
  • Work closely with international suppliers to understand production capacity, lead times, and logistics issues, and proactively identify and communicate supply risks.
  • Support cross-functional meetings and inventory audits as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements / Must-Haves:

  • Post-secondary degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field preferred
  • 3–4 years of experience in inventory planning or a related role.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and analyze vendor performance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
  • Proven ability to plan, balance, and multi-task based on shifting business needs.
  • Ability to listen, take direction, and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while producing high-quality work.
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).

Assets / Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience in international trade and working with overseas vendors.
  • Ability to communicate in Chinese, Korean, or Japanese is an asset for collaborating with overseas manufacturing partners.
